Manju Kalra is Professor of Surgery at Mayo Clinic School of Graduate Medical Education
and Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science, and is a Consultant in the Division of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery, Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota.
Dr. Kalra completed her Medical Degree in 1981 at Christian Medical College, India. She has a Master of Surgery degree from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research, Chandigarh, India, and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh. She spent the first six years of her surgical career in India and then completed a Vascular Surgery fellowship and abbreviated General Surgery residency at Mayo Clinic, where she subsequently remains. Dr. Kalra serves as Clinical Practice Chair and Research Director of the Division. She has mentored 59 Vascular Surgery and 10 Research fellows and has been voted “Teacher of the Year” four times.
Dr. Kalra has an extensive clinical practice encompassing all aspects of vascular surgery, with a special interest in aortic and venous disease, focusing on complex open reconstruction. Being at Mayo Clinic has facilitated population-based outcomes research. She has served as site PI for several industry-sponsored trials; current projects include the BEST-CLI Trial. She is the author of 179 peer-reviewed original articles and 40 book chapters. She has given over 250 presentations at regional, national and international meetings.
