Mark Jackson is the President of the Australian & New Zealand Society of Vascular Surgery (2024-26). He is an active Vascular Surgeon at the Gold Coast University Hospitals, located within Gold Coast’s Health Technology Precinct in Queensland, Australia.
He graduated from UNSW, Sydney and has trained and worked throughout Australia in major metropolitan hospitals in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, as well as many district and regional centers during his dual General and Vascular Surgical Training. He also undertook a 3-year fellowship at St Mary’s Hospital in London, working clinically in its renowned Regional Vascular Unit and also as a researcher employed by Imperial College, London. Here, he worked on his MD Thesis, examining Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis of the hemodynamics within peripheral vascular bypass grafts.
As a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) he has served on the binational Board of Vascular Surgery, rolling out a program of Technical Skills Assessment for ANZ Vascular Surgical Trainees. Mark has served on the ANZSVS Executive and the CPD and Audit committe goverining the Australasian Vascular Audit (AVA). He has a passionate interest and long-term involvement in Vascular audit and other quality assurance activities.
