Joseph “Joe” DuBose, MD USAF, FACS, FCCM , FSVS is a Professor of Surgery at both the Dell School of Medicine / University of Texas – Austin and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He attended the University of Virginia Medical School, where he additionally completed General Surgery residency. He has completed additional fellowships in Trauma Surgery, Surgical Critical Care (University of Southern California) and Vascular Surgery (University of Texas – Houston). He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery in General Surgery, Vascular Surgery and Surgical Critical Care and is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, the American College of Critical Care Medicine and the Society of Vascular Surgery. He has over 360 published peer review publications and is the lead editor for the textbook “Vascular Injury: Endovascular and Open Management”. He is a member of the the editorial board for the Journal of Trauma and Acute Care Surgery and is the Associate Editor for Vascular Trauma for Trauma Surgery and Acute Care Open. Dr. DuBose retired in June 2021 as Colonel in United States Air Force after 20 years of active-duty service that included seven deployments as a trauma surgeon to combat theaters in support of all three services in both combat support hospital and special operations support roles.
