Dr. Carlo Angello Sánchez- Montaño is a vascular surgery resident at Centro Médico Nacional 20 de Noviembre, a high-volume tertiary referral center in Mexico City, where he currently serves as chief resident. His clinical focus includes the surgical and endovascular management of arterial and venous diseases, with a particular interest in central vein stenosis, complex vascular malformations, vascular access for hemodialysis, and limb preservation strategies.
Originally from the small city of Poza Rica, Veracruz, Dr. Sánchez Montaño earned his medical degree and a master’s in Health Institutions Management from Universidad Anáhuac. He has a strong academic and research interest in minimally invasive therapies and multidisciplinary approaches to vascular anomalies. His work has been presented at national and international conferences.
In 2023, he was awarded the SVS General Surgery Resident Travel Scholarship by the Society for Vascular Surgery and was recognized by the “Voices of Vascular – Hispanic Heritage Month” campaign for his contributions as an emerging leader in vascular surgery.
Beyond the hospital setting, Dr. Sánchez Montaño has served as a national and international volunteer physician in underserved and impoverished regions. He is deeply committed to public health education and preventive strategies, particularly those aimed at reducing the burden of vascular disease in vulnerable populations.
