I am Kak Khee Yeung (32 year, F), senior resident vascular surgery and research coordinator of the department of vascular surgery. I started as a 2nd year medical student combining basic research with clinical studies in vascular surgery. My studies were performed at the department of vascular surgery and physiology. My PhD thesis (2013) was focused on juxtarenal aortic aneurysm repair and prevention of complications.
My postdoctoral work concerns two main research subjects:
1. Aortic aneurysms: the pathophysiology, genetic factors, imaging and updates in treatment. We investigate the specific role of smooth muscle cell contractility in aortic aneurysms.
2. Aortic occlusive diseases: the advantages of microbubbles and drug coating.
