Dr. Darling is a Board-Certified Vascular Surgeon, a Distinguished Fellow of the Society for Vascular Surgery and Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is Chief of the Division of Vascular Surgery as well as the Director of the Institute for Vascular Health and Disease at Albany Medical Center and runs one of the largest vascular health care systems in the United States.
Dr. Darling has participated in over 80 clinical research trials for carotid disease, arterial disease, open and endovascular therapies for AAA disease, and has published over 220 papers & 145 book chapters. He has lectured extensively around the world and has held multiple leadership positions in national & regional medical societies. He has most recently been appointed the Chair of the SVS/ACS Inpatient Vascular Accreditation Program. Dr. Darling is Past-President of the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Eastern Society for Vascular Surgery, VESS, and the New England Society for Vascular Surgery.
