Dr. Vicente Orozco-Sevilla is an Associate Professor of Surgery in the Division of Cardiothoracic Surgery at Baylor College of Medicine as well as holding the title of Professional Staff and Adult Cardiac Surgeon at the Texas Heart Institute, Baylor St Luke's Medical Center in Houston, Texas. He currently serves as the Associate Program Director of the Thoracic Surgery Residency in the Michael E. DeBakey Department of Surgery. As one of the few surgeons in the country who has formal training in cardiothoracic, vascular and aortic surgery, he is triple board certified in general, vascular, and cardiac surgery by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery. Dr. Orozco specializes in diseases of the aorta, namely those of the aortic valve and root, ascending aorta, aortic arch, descending thoracic aorta, and thoracoabdominal aorta. Under the mentorship of Dr. Coselli, he has developed expertise in virtually all elements of aortic reconstruction, including complex open and endovascular aortic procedures. Dr. Orozco-Sevilla has received the Career Faculty Award for Excellence in Patient Care (2023), the Hero of Heart Award from The Marfan Foundation (2024) and the Norton Rose Fulbright faculty excellence award (2025). He is also a member of the Society of Vascular Surgery, Society for Thoracic surgeons, American College of Surgeons, Texas Surgical Society, and Michael E. DeBakey International Surgical Society.
