Johanna Lou is a PGY-5 General Surgery Chief Resident at Cooper University Hospital. She graduated from Columbia University in 2012 with a B.A. in Neuroscience and received her M.D. in 2019 from the Lewis Katz School of Medicine at Temple University. During her general surgery training, she completed one year of translational research studying the effect of mesenchymal stems cells on aortic aneurysm formation in porcine modules in the lab of Jeffrey Carpenter. She is headed to the Medical College of Wisconsin for Vascular Surgery fellowship in August 2025 after completing her General Surgery residency. Her special interests include vascular reconstruction in oncology and robotic vascular surgery.
