Isabella Ferlini Cieri, M.D.
Dr. Isabella Cieri is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. She earned her medical degree (M.D.) from Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade Santo Amaro in Brazil before pursuing advanced surgical research training at one of the nation's premier academic medical centers.
Dr. Cieri's research focuses on vascular surgery and coagulation medicine, with particular expertise in peripheral arterial disease, thromboelastography, and anticoagulation therapy. Her work examines coagulation profiles in various patient populations, including those with chronic kidney disease, atrial fibrillation, and peripheral vascular conditions. She has made significant contributions to understanding platelet response variability and the optimization of antiplatelet therapy following vascular interventions.
Her academic productivity is demonstrated through numerous peer-reviewed publications in leading journals including Annals of Vascular Surgery, Journal of Vascular Surgery, and European Journal of Vascular and Endovascular Surgery. Dr. Cieri was recognized with the 2025 ISET Poster Award for her research on "Coagulation Profiles in Peripheral Arterial Disease Patients Undergoing Deep Vein Arterialization."
Currently based in Boston, Dr. Cieri continues her postdoctoral fellowship while contributing to the advancement of evidence-based vascular surgical care and perioperative coagulation management.
