Dr. William Yoon is the Co-director of the Aortic Center at University Hospitals Harrington Heart & Vascular Institute. He holds the title of Clinical Associate Professor of Surgery at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine.
Dr. Yoon completed his undergraduate education at the University of Connecticut, where he graduated with Magna cum laude honor and Phi Beta Kappa in 2007. He obtained his medical degree from the Medical College of Virginia, Virginia Commonwealth University. He completed general surgery training at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, where he was awarded the Anthony B. Chambers Award as the Best Chief Surgical Resident in 2016. Dr. Yoon went on to complete vascular surgery fellowship training at Loyola University Medical Center, Chicago, where he received John L. Keeley Surgical Fellowship Award for advanced aortic training at Uppsala University, Sweden. Dr. Yoon obtained additional dedicated training in advanced endovascular aortic repair at Paracelsus Medical University of Nuremberg, Germany, and completed his PhD thesis at Uppsala University, Sweden.
Dr. Yoon’s research focuses on advancing endovascular management of aortic disease, concentrating on the significance of endograft geometry on hemodynamics. He has given talks and presentations at over 80 national and international conferences and is a reviewer for the Journal of Vascular Surgery, Annals of Vascular Surgery, and Journal of Endovascular Therapy. Dr. Yoon is board certified in both Vascular surgery and General Surgery by the American Board of Surgery.
