Dr. Smolock is Associate Professor Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and Chief of Vascular Surgery at Mount Sinai Queens whose interests focus on complex aortic pathologies such as dissections, aneurysms, and aortoiliac occlusive disease. He is board certified in Vascular Surgery. He obtained his Doctorate of Medicine degree from Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia, PA in 2002. He completed a postdoctoral Fellowship in Research at the University of Pennsylvania. He went on to complete a surgical residency at the University of Rochester, in NY, and a Fellowship in Vascular Surgery at Methodist DeBakey Heart and Vascular Center in Houston, TX. He is a member of many professional organizations and societies in addition to the Society for Vascular Surgery and VESS. He has held positions and committee chairs on multiple national and institutional committees and has been a sought-after national lecturer. Dr. Smolock is active in clinical research with over 60 peer-reviewed publications focusing on vascular surgical quality and complex carotid and aortic interventions.
