William Jordan, Jr., MD

Augusta , Georgia

Dr. Jordan currently serves as Chair of Surgery at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, and Surgeon in Chief for the Wellstar MCG Health. While leading department of surgery, he oversees surgical care across the health system with a focus on medical education, surgical training, and a collaborative approach for assessing quality and implementing new technology. He previously served as the Holt A. McDowell Chair in Surgery at UAB, the John E. Skandalakis Chair in Surgery at Emory and a director of the Vascular Surgery Board of the American Board of Surgery. His professional society participation includes American Surgical Association (ASA) membership, President of the Association of Program Directors in Vascular Surgery (APDVS), President of the Society for Clinical Vascular Surgery (SCVS), and Secretary-Treasurer and President of Southern Association for Vascular Surgery (SAVS). His clinical interests include complex aortic surgery from a combined open and endovascular approach and treatment of carotid stenosis.
