Dr. Andrea Obi is an Assosciate Professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of Michigan. She holds degrees in Microbiology and Immunology as well as English Literature from the University of Michigan, and an M.D. from Loyola University Stritch School of Medicine. She completed general surgery residency and vascular surgery fellowship in the Department of Surgery at The University of Michigan, during which time she completed a post-doctoral fellowship in Vascular Biology in the Conrad Jobst Vascular Laboratories. Dr. Obi co-chairs the University of Michigan VTE committee, the Venous Health Program, a multidisciplinary clinic focused on the care of patients with complex inherited or acquired venous disorders and is the Medical Director of the University of Michigan Diagnostic Vascular Unity, which performs >30,000 vascular studies across 7 sites. She runs a translational thrombosis lab focused on the molecular mechanisms of immunothrombosis and pharmaceutical and device interventions for venous disease.
