William P. Shutze, MD, is a board certified vascular surgeon with Texas Vascular Associates in Dallas, Texas. He earned his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, and completed his general surgery residency at University of Alabama (UAB) Hospital, Birmingham, where he served as Administrative Chief Resident. He then completed a vascular surgery fellowship at Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas, TX. He joined the medical and teaching staff at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas in 1991 and served as Program Director of its Vascular Fellowship Program from 2013-2105, holds an academic appointment as Associate Professor of Surgery at Texas A&M College of Medicine and was the co-director of the Aortic Program at The Baylor Heart Hospital Baylor Plano from 2015-2022.
He has participated in more than 25 clinical trials. He has authored or co-authored almost 100 articles and abstracts in peer-reviewed medical journals. In addition, he has presented his work at more than 90 regional and national medical conferences.
A fellow of the American College of Surgeons, Dr Shutze is also a member of the Vascular and Endovascular Surgery Society, the International Society for Women Vascular Surgeons, the Society for Vascular Surgery, the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Surgical Society, and the Southern Association for Vascular Surgery. He has served as member, chair or co-chair of various medical committees and conferences and currently serves on the SVS Executive Board as the SVS Secretary. He is co-chair for the ACS/SVS Vascular Verification Program.
